Docklands is one of the central districts of Melbourne, the largest coastal and the capital city of the state of Victoria which can be found in the southernmost region of the continent of Australia. Docklands is one of the close western suburbs of downtown Melbourne, and it is also one of the oldest districts of the city. The local area has been used as the docks area for many decades of the city's history, and recently it has undergone a massive renovation, making the district look much more advanced and modern. The district has its area estimated to be slightly over 1.2 square miles. The very central parts of the city of Melbourne are located just less than a mile to the east of the district of Docklands.

From its southern and western sides, the district is bordered by the river of Yarra which offers very nice views of the area. There are the main docks located in the central and southern parts of the district. Docklands is known for a few small but really nice parks and green areas like Ron Barassi Snr Park, Docklands Park, Community Gardens, Buluk Park, and others. There is a newly constructed modern and large stadium built in the neighborhood, which is planned to serve as one of the main attractions of the district. Right near the stadium, it is possible to find a few excellent places to eat like Squires Loft Docklands Steakhouse, Stack Burger, 90 Secondi, Chicken Republic, Garden Gate Bar, Ichimaki Sushuhouse, Smoke and Smoulder Restaurant, and many others.
