An industrial multi-cultural city of Naini (नैनी), Naini Industrial Area, is located in the south of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated on the banks of River Yamuna. The population of Naini has been recently increasing since more and more people are coming there to receive a new job at the new factories being opened for the last decade. Naini is a center of local Bagheli and Awadhi cultures, with interesting traditions and local crafts. The residents speak Hindi, Awadhi, Urdu, and Bagheli. There are two bridges in Naini: New Yamuna Bridge and Old Naini Bridge.

Naini is home to a campus of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences established in 1910 by Dr. Sam Higginbottom. Naini Central Prison or Naini Jail is also in the city, but it was infamous because many freedom fighters including Motilal Nehru, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, Govind Ballabh Pant, Narendra Dev, Hasrat Mohani, Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, Indira Gandhi, Feroze Gandhi, and others were imprisoned here during the Indian independence movement.
