The University of Dayton Arena, also known as UD Arena, is a large indoor arena with a basketball capacity of 13,409, located 2.5 miles south of downtown Dayton in Ohio, United States. The arena is situated close to Welcome Stadium, Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium, and the University of Dayton Softball Stadium. It was opened on December 6, 1969, designed by Pretzinger & Pretzinger. UD Arena is the home ground of Dayton Flyers (NCAA). It has hosted NCAA's First Four since 2001. The arena also hosted many notable artists and bands including Elton John, Elvis Presley, Jay-Z, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Rush, Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Usher, and so on. The graduation ceremonies of the university are held at the stadium.
