The show premiered on September 8, 2003, received many awards and nominations including Daytime Emmy Awards and the People's Choice Awards. The program features celebrity interviews, musical guests, audience participation games, etc. The first five seasons of the show took place at NBC Studios in Burbank, California, USA. From season 6, filming has moved to Warner Bros. Stages 1, 2, and 3. The Ellen DeGeneres Show is now filmed in Studio 1, called "The Ellen Stage".
