Situated 1.5 miles northwest of the city center, designed by HOK Sport, and opened on 1 October 1999, the arena has a seating capacity of 19,520. It hosts basketball and hockey games, wrestling matches, concerts, conventions, and other events. Ball Arena is home to NHL's Colorado Avalanche, NBA's Denver Nuggets, and NLL's Colorado Mammoth. It was also home to AFL's Colorado Crush between 2003–08. The arena hosted the 2001 NHL All-Star Game, the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2004, 2008, 2011, and 2016, UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage, and so on.
