Bryant Park is a famous public park located between W 40th and W 42nd streets, New York, NY, USA. It is a privately managed, 9.6-acre park that took its name after Romantic poet, civic reformer, and editor of the New York Evening Post, William Cullen Bryant in 1884. New York Public Library - Stephen A. Schwarzman Building is situated in the eastern half of the park. It was designated as a "Scenic Landmark" by the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1974. Bryant Park annually hosts many activities, classes, and events. There are also notable sculptures in the park such as the William Cullen Bryant Memorial, the Statue of William E. Dodge, Bust of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Josephine Shaw Lowell Memorial Fountain, Statue of José Bonifácio de Andrada, etc. Le Carrousel Magique designed by Marvin Sylvor is located in the southern part of the park. In winter, you can also experience New York's only free-admission ice skating rink and European inspired open-air market at Bryan Park.
