Cologne, Germany

Cologne (Köln in German) is the fourth-largest city in Germany, located on the left bank of the Rhine River, about 45 kilometers southeast of Düsseldorf and 25 kilometers northwest of Bonn. It is one of the key cities in North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany. Cologne is known as one of the oldest Roman cities in the country, having been established during the Roman Empire.

It is the largest metropolitan area along the Rhine and serves as a major political, cultural, economic, and historical center of the region. The city features numerous landmarks, including historic churches, bridges, parks, theaters, museums, galleries, and modern high-rise buildings. Cologne is home to the University of Cologne (Universität zu Köln), founded in 1388, making it one of the oldest universities in Europe. The Technical University of Cologne (Technische Hochschule Köln) and the German Sport University Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln) are also located in the city.
