Kent County is a county in Maryland, USA, located in the eastern part of the state. It is the least populous county in Maryland. It was founded on December 30, 1642, and named for Kent in England. Chestertown is the county seat and the largest town. Kent is bordered by Cecil County to the north, New Castle County to the northeast, Harford County to the northwest, Queen Anne's County to the south, Anne Arundel County to the southwest, and Baltimore County to the west. Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge is in the county. U.S. Route 301 serves the area.
