The Secret Agent (original title: O Agente Secreto) is a period political thriller film written and directed by acclaimed Brazilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho. The film stars Wagner Moura alongside Carlos Francisco, Robério Diógenes, Tânia Maria, Alice Carvalho, Udo Kier, Gabriel Leone, Maria Fernanda Cândido, Isabél Zuaa, and Hermila Guedes. The film premiered on 18 May 2025 at the Cannes Film Festival and was released in Brazil on 6 November 2025. It received critical acclaim, winning many awards, including Best Actor and Best Director, as well as the FIPRESCI Prize and AFCAE Award at Cannes. It also received Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama (Wagner Moura) and Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.
