Aurillac is a town and a nice community which can be found in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, which can be found in the south central part of France. It is a tourist attraction and a settlement located on a very nice setting, right at the Cantal mountains. Historically, the town was established during the times of the Gallo-Roma times, and initially it was named Aureliacum since there was a large villa located there. Later on the town was renamed in Sauveté and began expanding as a settlement near the villa. In the late Medieval times there were over 5 thousand people living in the town. Industrialization and especially new transportation options caused really fast development of the town. Today it is a key commercial center of the region, with plenty of shops and markets located around the town.
