Barbados is a small island located in the southeastern Caribbean Sea. Situated 100 miles east of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, it is an independent country with an area of about 165 square miles. The island is known as the birthplace of rum. Mount Gay Rum is considered the oldest rum in the world, produced by Mount Gay Distillery since 1703.
