Belgrade, Serbia

Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia and the largest and most populous city in the country. It is located in the north-central part of Serbia, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Belgrade is a cradle of cultures and is situated about 60 miles from the border with Romania (to the east) and about 75 miles from the border with Bosnia (to the west). The city’s beautiful architecture reflects its long and epic history, with buildings constructed during the Ottoman and Byzantine periods, under Austrian and Hungarian rule, and in classic and neoclassical architectural styles. 

Belgrade has a multicultural and multi-religious community, with large Christian and Muslim populations. It is considered a beta-global city, with residents of diverse ethnic origins and nationalities. Numerous theaters, museums, monuments, and cultural venues indicate a very active cultural life in Belgrade. The city hosts various international events, including sports competitions, concerts, exhibitions, and festivals. Belgrade’s riverfront, recreational facilities, modern hotels, bars, nightclubs, shopping malls, restaurants, and guest houses attract fans of active lifestyles and nightlife.
