Clementinum is a historic site and a set of all beautiful building situated right near the famous Carl's Bridge in the central part of Prague, Czechia. The buildings are quite old and were built near a small church in the 11th century. The monastery appeared near the church in the 15th century and later on was transformed into a popular and modern educational establishment. In the 17th century it was renamed in the Charles University and started being developed really fast. Those were the times when a library, numerous research facilities and even a small observatory were built. During the 19th and 20th century Clementinum was a home to the National Library, as well as a few other technical libraries, which were transferred to other location in the beginning of the 21st century. The historic site is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
