Doha, Qatar

Doha is one of the richest and most modern cities on our planet, a popular tourist destination, and one of the most expensive cities in the Middle East. It is also the capital of the country of Qatar, officially known as the State of Qatar. The city was established in the early 19th century and has developed rapidly, transforming into a modern urban paradise thanks to the country’s booming economy.

Doha has advanced infrastructure and many remarkable examples of modern architecture, such as the Museum of Islamic Art, contemporary business centers, and numerous other iconic buildings. With its excellent facilities for sports and recreation, the city hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022, and many new stadiums and international-event facilities were built for this purpose.

The city’s main sources of income include the oil and gas industry, associated businesses, tourism, and entertainment. Doha is a large and rapidly developing city, with roughly eight out of ten residents of Qatar living there. The city center is home to numerous modern skyscrapers and buildings with futuristic designs. Significant investments and support from the government have fueled Doha’s rapid development over the past decades.

Doha regularly hosts major international business and scientific events, such as the International Petroleum Conferences, the World Petroleum Council, UNFCCC climate conferences, and other ecology-related international gatherings, along with numerous high-level fairs, exhibitions, and business meetings.
