It is located near San Antonio river and is a home to about 2,000 people. The town was established in the mid-1700s by a group of Spanish settlers, and there are a few old mansions and buildings similar to the traditional Spanish architecture examples. The town is known for its beautiful Goliad State Park & Historic Site, situated in the southern part of the town.
