A small peninsula located between Block Bay and the Sulzberger Ice Shelf in northwest Antarctica, Guest Peninsula is just about 45 miles long, snow covered land. The first scientists arrived there in the beginning of the 20th century, so they discovered the peninsula and a small peak, known now as Mitchel Peak. The current name of the peninsula was given by the members of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition in 1940s.
