Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, Brazil

Ibirapuera Park (Parque Ibirapuera) is a large city park in the central part of São Paulo, Brazil. It is located between three highways and covers an area of approximately 160 hectares. It was established in the mid-1950s and built as an English garden. The landscape was designed by a local designer and the park was planned to be the largest in the city. Currently, it is still one of the largest on the continent, as well as one of the main landmarks of the capital city. It is often compared with Central Park in NYC. 

Ibirapuera Park is also considered to be one of the most visited parks in Latin America, with an annual number of visitors close to 14.5 million people. Ibirapuera Park has also been selected as "one of the 10 best urban parks in the world" by The Guardian. The park is open all year from 5 am to midnight. Attractions in and around the park include São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, Museum Afro Brazil, Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras, Monumento às Bandeiras, Oca Art Museum, and Auditório Ibirapuera - Oscar Niemeyer.
