John Cain Arena is an entertainment venue, formerly known as Vodafone Arena (2000–08), Hisense Arena (2008–18), and Melbourne Arena (2018–20), located within Melbourne Park, north of Olympic Park Oval and south of Melbourne Cricket Ground, at 2 Olympic Blvd, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was opened on 27 July 2000, designed by Peddle Thorp. It has been the home ground for NBL's Melbourne United and South East Melbourne Phoenix. It also has been the home for Melbourne Vixens (ANZ/NNL), Collingwood Magpies (NNL), and the Australian Open. The arena hosted many notable events such as the 2004 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, the 2006 Commonwealth Games, and the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
