Jones Beach State Park is a popular state park in Wantagh, New York, United States, located at 1 Ocean Parkway on Jones Beach Island. It features a 6-mile-long beach, a swimming pool, bars, locker rooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts, parking lots, a recreation center, an outdoor amphitheater, an event venue, a volleyball court, a museum, an amusement park as well as a few historical landmarks and tourist attractions. The state park was created on August 4, 1929, and is open year-round. It has been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places since April 28, 2005. It is also a U.S. Historic district.
