Named after one of the ancient governors of Egypt, Ahmad Ibn Tulun, the mosque was constructed in 879. The Mosque of Ibn Tulun is situated to the west of the Mosque of Muhammad Ali (جامع محمد علي). The mosque is one of the main landmarks in the city and a must-visit place.
