Mysore Palace (ಮೈಸೂರು ಅರಮನೆ) is an Indo-Saracenic palace and the royal residence located in the center of Mysore in the state of Karnataka, India. It was designed by the British architect Henry Irwin who was an architect of British India and mostly known for his works in Indo-Saracenic style. Its construction started in 1897, completed in 1912 at a cost of Rs. 41,47,913 and expanded in around 1930. The palace measures about 245 feet in length, 156 feet in breadth. Its gold-plated dome is about 145 feet from the ground. After the Taj Mahal, Mysore Palace is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. It is also considered one of the most beautiful structures of Indo-Saracenic architecture with arches, domes, turrets, and colonnades.
