The arena is situated about 8 kilometers southwest of the city center, served by a train station and a subway station. It has a concert capacity of 20,000 and a sports capacity of 13,500. Poliedro de Caracas hosted the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, also known as the FIBA AmeriCup. Many artists and bands performed at the stadium, including The Police, Queen, Cyndi Lauper, Aerosmith, Luciano Pavarotti, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, UB40, Metallica, Eric Clapton, Dream Theater, Shakira, Jamiroquai, and many more.
