Rainbow Family Village is a very famous street and a tourist attraction situated in North District of Taichung City in Taiwan. The street includes a number of buildings which are painted in bright colors and should be considered pieces of arts. The first creator of the street was a local military person who began working on painting houses in the mid 1920s. Later on, the work was continued by the members of his family. The main motifs of the street art include nature, animals, birds, plants, etc. There used to be a much larger number of houses in the village, up to 12 hundred, but not anymore. Now so called Rainbow Village has only about a dozen of houses, which are being preserved and looked after as an important landmark of the area.
