Sakumo Lagoon Protected Area is a small national park situated in the neighborhood of Tema, a city in southern Ghana. The park covers the area of about 3300 acres and is situated around the Sakumono Lagoon. As the lagoon is famous for its great amounts of fish, the park attracts those who are fans of fishing. However, as the lagoon tends to dry out during the summer months, it is not recommended to plan visiting the park in July, August and September since the weather is really boiling. The park is also famous for its large variety of birds.
