San Juan, Puerto Rico

San Juan is the largest city and the capital of Puerto Rico, located in the northeastern part of the country. It is an old settlement that was founded by groups of settlers from European countries such as Spain and Portugal in the early 16th century, during the early period of exploration of the newly discovered continent. Located on the shores of the North Atlantic Ocean, the city is a key part of the region, and its name comes from Saint John, who is considered the guardian of the city. San Juan is one of the oldest capital cities on the North American continent.

It is also a major financial, business, and cultural center of the country. It is a key resort and tourism center, with many attractions, including local museums, galleries, restaurants, parks, hotels, and beaches. The city and its municipal area are very large, and it is estimated that almost three out of four people in the country live or work in the San Juan municipal area. This is because the city provides excellent living conditions and varied job opportunities for everyone.

Located in a beautiful natural setting, near several harbors and lagoons, the city is a center of the country's social and cultural life, with many interesting museums, galleries, libraries, universities and other educational institutions, parks, amusement areas, restaurants and nightclubs, shopping centers, and markets that are usually filled with customers. San Juan often suffers damage from various hurricanes that are frequent in the Caribbean region, and this certainly affects the economy and the lives of residents.
