Story Bridge is an iconic, heritage-listed bridge on the Brisbane River, located at State Route 15, New Farm QLD, Australia. It is one of the Australian landmarks, and a very popular spot offering picturesque views of the city. It took its name from a prominent public servant, John Douglas Story who migrated to Brisbane with its family from Scotland. Story Bridge is a steel cantilever bridge that connects Fortitude Valley to Kangaroo Point, with a total length of 777 meters (2,549 ft), a height of 74 meters (243 ft), and a width of 24 meters (79 ft). It was opened on 6 July 1940 and known as the Jubilee Bridge. Story Bridge is on the Queensland Heritage Register list since 1992. It also has a Historic Engineering Marker.
