The first bridge there was built in the middle of the 6th century and played a very important role in commercial and social life of the city. The bridge is mentioned in a large number of poetry and literature of those times. In the middle of the 18th century the first stone bridge was built, and the current bridge was constructed in 1994. The bridge is quite small, only about 16 feet long and about 260 feet of the longest span.
