Tulle is a beautiful old town situated in the district of Corrèze, which is in the department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, central France. The town was established as early as in the 4th century, when the Romans built the first monastery in the area. The monastery was later on destroyed by the Vikings but still the settlement somehow started development. It has got its name after a goddess Tutela which was supposed to protect people's property. In the Middle Ages the town was developing as a small manufacturing center. Tulle is notorious as a town which lived a terrible massacre during the times of the World War II. In modern days it is a typical rural community, with the population close to 15,000 people.
