Aftersun is a critically acclaimed drama movie produced by Adele Romanski, Amy Jackson, Barry Jenkins, and Mark Ceryak, and written and directed by Charlotte Wells. Starring Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio as leads, the film follows the story of Sophie who takes a summer trip to Turkey with her father. It premiered at Cannes Film Festival on 21 May 2022, was released by A24 on 21 October 2022 in the United States, and on 18 November 2022 in the United Kingdom by Mubi. The film won numerous awards and nominations, including "Best British Independent Film", "Best Director", and "Best Screenplay" at the 2022 British Independent Film Awards as well as "French Touch Prize of the Critics' Week Jury" at Cannes.
