The Dog Stars Locations

The Dog Stars is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, with music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and a screenplay by Mark L. Smith, who is also known for works such as The Revenant (2015), The Midnight Sky (2020), and Twisters (2024).

The film features a cast that includes Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin, Allison Janney, Benedict Wong, and Guy Pearce. It will be released by 20th Century Studios on August 28, 2026, in the United States.

Filming began in April 2025 and wrapped in June 2025. Production mainly took place in Italy, with locations like Val d'Arano in Ovindoli, Avezzano in the province of L'Aquila, and the Cansiglio area in the Alpine foothills. Additional scenes were shot at Cinecittà Studios in Rome, a historic movie studio in Italy.
