Cergy is a community situated in the region of Île-de-France, in the neighborhood of the capital city in the central part of the country. It is one of the newly formed northern outskirts areas of Paris, established only about 60 years ago as a result of a merge of two smaller towns. Cergy has a spectacular setting on the banks of the river Oise and is famous for its beautiful small marina with a small port and plenty of luxury yachts parked there year round. The community is friendly and the town is known as a small center of education, with many colleges and a few universities located there.
