Chippewa Square is an iconic filming location of Forrest Gump (1994) in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It was named after the Battle of Chippawa and dates back to 1815. The square is located in Savannah's North Historic District and is close to many historical landmarks and other tourist attractions, such as the Harper Fowlkes House, Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum, Savannah Theatre, First Baptist Church of Savannah, and the Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum & Tours. It is a 9-foot bronze and granite statue that was unveiled in 1910.
Due to its popularity following the release of the iconic romantic drama, the square is today also known as Forrest Gump Square. The location of the bench in Chippewa Square remains a popular attraction for film lovers and photographers. The original bench used in the film is now preserved at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
