Savannah, GA, USA

Savannah is a city and a large community located in the eastern part of the state of Georgia, near the border between Georgia and South Carolina. It is a historic city built on the southwestern banks of the Savannah River, about a dozen miles from the point where the river meets the waters of the North Atlantic Ocean in the southeastern United States. There are several smaller rivers in the area, especially in the southern and southwestern parts of the city. The Ogeechee, Little Ogeechee, Vernon, and Moon rivers all have their deltas close to Savannah.

Savannah covers an area of nearly 110 square miles, making it the fifth-largest city in Georgia by area. Downtown Savannah is located about 14 miles northwest of the Atlantic coastline. With an average elevation of around 50 feet, the city lies in low-lying, marshy terrain that includes many small creeks, ponds, and other water sources.

Traditionally, Savannah has been an important industrial and manufacturing center for the region, with numerous modern plants and industrial facilities. The city is also a major hub for arts and culture, hosting many annual events and festivals. It offers a wide range of attractions, including fortresses, historic cemeteries, architectural landmarks, and well-preserved old buildings.
