Pristina, Kosovo

Pristina, or Prishtinë, is the capital city of Kosovo, located in the northeastern part of the country, covering an area of 572 square kilometers. It is situated 520 kilometers south of Belgrade and 90 kilometers north of Skopje. The majority of the population are Albanians, and Albanian culture strongly influences local architecture, lifestyle, cuisine, traditions, and other aspects of life. Pristina is an important educational center, hosting a number of colleges and a major university. The city is also served by Pristina International Airport.

Landmarks and Attractions

Pristina has many notable attractions, including the Kosovo Museum, Newborn Monument, Statue of the Albanian hero Skanderbeg, Cathedral of Pristina, Imperial Mosque, National Theatre of Kosovo, National Art Gallery, Ethnological Museum, National Archaeology, Ethnography, and Natural Science Museum, National Library of Kosovo, Clock Tower, Germia Park, Skanderbeg Square, Government of Kosovo, and others. Gračanica Monastery, a Serbian Orthodox monastery located in Gračanica, Pristina District, is listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. 

The Pristina Film Festival, an international event, has been held annually since 2009.
