Royal Festival Hall, London: Venue of the BAFTA Awards

Royal Festival Hall is a major concert venue in London, located within the Southbank Centre on the South Bank of the River Thames. It is situated close to several landmarks and attractions, including the London Eye, BFI IMAX, Hayward Gallery, National Theatre, King's College London (Waterloo Campus), and Waterloo Station.

Opened on 3 May 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain, the hall was designed in a modernist style by Robert Matthew and Leslie Martin. It has a seating capacity of around 2,700 and has been owned by Southbank Centre Limited since 1988. The building is Grade I listed and was renovated between 2005 and 2007.

Royal Festival Hall is home to the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the London Sinfonietta. It has also hosted the British Academy Film Awards since 2008.

Today, it is one of England’s most iconic performance venues and is open to visitors daily with free public access to many areas. The venue includes the Clore Ballroom on Level 2, which regularly hosts free events, as well as the National Poetry Library -home to the largest public collection of modern poetry in the world- along with a bar, restaurant, and café.
