Savoca appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972). Savoca, along with the town of Forza d'Agrò, was used as a location for the scenes set in the village of Corleone. Bar Vitelli, located at Piazza Fossia 7 (37°57'20.8"N 15°20'22.6"E), is a key location for the film, serving as the place where Michael Corleone meets Apollonia's father. Today, the bar is still in operation and remains a popular tourist destination.
