St. Petersburg, Russia

Known as the cultural capital of Russia, St. Petersburg is the second-largest city in the country and one of its most beautiful, as well as the capital of St. Petersburg Province. Located in the northwestern part of Russia, the city is a major center for business, commerce, transportation, education, and social life in the region. It is a large port and an extremely popular tourist destination, welcoming a high number of visitors every year. The city was established in the early 18th century by Russian Tsar Peter I and was built as the northern capital of Russia.
