A small town of Thiais is one of the neighborhoods of Paris and a part of the region of Île-de-France, situated in the central part of the country. Thiais can be found about 6.5 miles south of the capital city center. It is an old town founded in the ate Medieval times as a result of the development of a Medieval village known as Theodaxium. About two centuries ago the town became a part of Paris neighborhood and began growing and developing just like many communities in the area. Thiais is not much of a tourist area but it can be interesting for those who love the work of Yevgeniy Zamyatin, a Russian author and social activist as his grave is located in the town.
