The Transfiguration Cathedral (Спасо-Преображенський собор УПЦ МП), also known as Saviour-Transfiguration Cathedral, is one of the oldest churches in Ukraine as well as the oldest structure in Chernihiv. Constructed in the 11th century, the cathedral has seen the rule of many kings and emperors. The 5-domed cathedral is used as an operating worship facility for Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and it is one of the main points of interest in the city, the northernmost province capital of modern Ukraine. The church is located to the northeast of St. Catherine's Cathedral, near Chernihiv Dytynets Park, on the banks of the Desna River.
