University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is a famous public university located at 1 Main Street, Houston, Texas, United States. It was established on August 6, 1974. It was formerly known as the University of Houston–Downtown College (1974–1983) and offers bachelor's and master's degree programs. It has four academic colleges: Marilyn Davies College of Business, College of Humanities & Social Sciences, College of Public Service, and College of Sciences & Technology. The campus is considered one of the most advanced and modern in the state. The campus can be reached by UH-Downtown Light Rail Station or Interstate 10. Notable alumni include poet Lorenzo Thomas, politician Phil Montgomery, and cyber security expert Ananth Prabhu Gurpur.

The One Main Building is located on the campus of the University of Houston–Downtown. The building was known as the M&M Building, built in 1930 and designed by Giesecke & Harris. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on September 17, 1980. The building is also a U.S. Historic District and a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. It is the largest facility of the university.
