Matlock is an American crime drama and mystery television series created by Dean Hargrove. Starring Andy Griffith, Lori Lethin, Kene Holliday, Alice Hirson, Linda Purl, Julie Sommars, Nancy Stafford, Kari Lizer, Daniel Roebuck, Clarence Gilyard Jr., Brynn Thayer, and Carol Huston, the series originally aired from March 3, 1986, to May 8, 1992, on NBC, and from November 5, 1992, to May 4, 1995, on ABC.
The show consists of nine seasons and won a Primetime Emmy Award. Matlock (Seasons 1–6) was filmed at Universal Studios in Universal City, California, USA, while Seasons 7–9 were shot at EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Exterior courthouse scenes were filmed at the Art of Living Foundation Building, located at 948 West Adams Boulevard, Los Angeles.
