The series stars Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, Anna Torv, and Murray Bartlett. It is considered the largest TV production in Canadian history. The series received critical acclaim, was watched by millions of viewers, and renewed for a second season. The first season of the show consists of 9 episodes. The Last of Us was filmed in Alberta, Canada. Filming locations included the Alberta Legislature Building, Northland Village, and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. The second season was shot in British Columbia between February and August 2024. Filming occurred in Nanaimo, Kamloops, Britannia Beach, Fort Langley, Exshaw, and Mission.
