Brasília, Brazil

Brasília is the capital and the largest city of Brazil, governed as the Federal District, situated in central Brazil. The city was founded on April 21, 1960, making it a relatively young settlement established in the mid-20th century. It is a well-planned city with an area of 5,802 km² (2,240 sq mi). The city was built in the Brazilian Highlands, an area with a tropical savanna climate.

Today, Brasília is the center of Brazil’s administration, business, government, education, and culture.
