The Canary Islands (Islas Canarias in Spanish) are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. The archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean, about 67 miles northwest of the African continent, but it is politically part of Spain. Nearby natural attractions include Garajonay National Park and the Macizo de Anaga.
The city is also home to many cultural events, such as the Tenerife International Film Music Festival, Festival de Música Clásica de Canarias, and Plátano Rock Festival. Tourism plays a key role in the islands’ economy, along with agriculture and services. The islands offer numerous world-class hotels, beaches, and other amenities for vacationers.
