Champagne Problems is an American romantic comedy movie written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Starring Minka Kelly, Tom Wozniczka, Thibault de Montalembert, Astrid Whettnall, Sean Amsing, Flula Borg, and Xavier Samuel, the film was released by Netflix on November 19, 2025, and received positive reviews from critics and viewers.

Sydney (Minka Kelly) heads to France to close a deal for a famous champagne company before Christmas, but everything changes when she falls for a Parisian gentleman named Henri (Tom Wozniczka), only to discover he’s the founder’s son.

Where was Champagne Problems Filmed?

Champagne Problems is a great choice for romantic film lovers to watch during the Christmas season. The movie was filmed in the Marne department of northern France, with locations including Taissy and Épernay. Château Comtesse Lafond in Épernay, located at 79 Av. de Champagne, served as the exterior of Château Cassell. The interior scenes took place at Château de Challerange in Taissy. Additional filming took place in Paris. The sequences set in the bookshop Les Étolies were filmed at Usine Deguerry, located at 12 Rue Deguerry in the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

Épernay is a beautiful small commune located about 140 kilometers northeast of Paris. It is known as the “Capital of Champagne” and is famous for being home to many major Champagne producers. L’Avenue de Champagne, a world-famous avenue in Épernay, is among the world’s most valuable, as millions of champagne bottles are stored in chalk cellars stretching over 100 kilometers beneath it. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015. 

Avenue de Champagne in Épernay hosts the annual Habits de Lumière festival. The film’s ‘Festival of Light’ scenes were actually shot at Épernay’s Les Habits de Lumière celebration.
