Launched by the Mississippi Blues Commission in 2006, the Mississippi Blues Trail honors the history of blues music. It features more than 200 markers throughout the state of Mississippi, especially in the Mississippi Delta, and in some cases outside of the state like California and Maine. Each marker highlights prominent people and places in the history of blues music.
