It was released on November 8, 1956 (US), earned $122.7 million and became the second-highest-grossing film of the decade. The film also won the 1957 Academy Awards for "Best Effects, Special Effects" (John P. Fulton). The Ten Commandments was shot in the USA and Egypt.
