Brockport is a large village situated in the north western part of the state of New York in, the US. It is one of the outskirts areas of the city of Rochester and quite a large community. The name of the village comes from the last name of one of the founders of the settlement, Heil Brockway. It is believed that before the European settlers arrived to the area, the village used to be a home to a local population. In the early 19th century the village has got its present day's name and started developing as a small center of agriculture and farming. Today's Brockport is a small neighborhood of the town of Sweden and is a tourist attraction, with a very interesting old downtown. There are also many nice places to eat and stay for a day of two.
