Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium: Home of Oklahoma Sooners

Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is a football stadium in Norman, Oklahoma, United States, located at 1185 Asp Avenue. It is situated on the University of Oklahoma campus, about 22 miles south of Oklahoma City. Opened on October 20, 1923, as Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, it was renamed in 2002. The stadium has been the home field of the NCAA’s Oklahoma Sooners since its opening. It is a large stadium with a seating capacity of over 80,000 people and is one of the largest stadiums in the Southeastern Conference. Its record attendance of 88,388 occurred on November 11, 2017, during a game against the TCU Horned Frogs.

Between 2007 and 2008, the stadium was upgraded with new HD video boards, LED ribbon displays, and sound systems. In 2015-2016, a major renovation enclosed the south end zone, added new football facilities, and increased the seating capacity to over 83,000.
