Opened on November 27, 1920, it has a seating capacity of 70,083 and has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years. It serves as the home of the NCAA’s Washington Huskies and hosted the Seattle Seahawks in 1994, 2000, and 2001.
Situated on the shores of Union Bay, Husky Stadium is surrounded by other campus sports facilities, including the Nordstrom Tennis Center, Alaska Airlines Arena, Husky Softball Stadium, and Dempsey Indoor Center. Formerly known as University of Washington Stadium, it is recognized as one of the loudest stadiums in the United States. Between 1955 and 1975, it hosted 12 NFL preseason games, including six featuring the San Francisco 49ers.
